$26 Million!

Monterey Car Week 2025 has come and gone, and so to have the amazing auctions that accompany it. While an article could be written about every car that crossed the blocks, the obvious one we must discuss is the 2025 Ferrari Daytona SP3 which hammered at RM Sotheby’s for an astounding $26,000,000!
Yes, for the price of 896 2025 Mazda Miatas, someone bought themselves one very special Ferrari, and likely a ticket to the front of the line for the next one.
This particular Daytona SP3 was commissioned by Ferrari as an additional example beyond the original run of 599 cars, making it “599+1”. As the original cars had a base MSRP of $2.2 million, $26 million is quite the leap.
Those eight figures not only bought a unique car, but a unique specifications as well. A massive laundry list of Tailor Made options can be found, with two tone paint and an interior made of recycled material being just the start. I’d love to see the window sticker for what the MSRP of the car came to.
One bonus that likely contributed to the result, is that all proceeds went to charity, that being the Ferrari Foundation. Additionally, the buyer’s premium was removed, which provided even incentive to bid.
Clearly, this is a special car built for a special purpose.

Watching the auction was really something, with the highlight being the jump from $21,500,000 to $24,000,000 by one bidder. I thought for sure that sealed it, but clearly that was not the case!
At time of writing, I do not know who the winner bidder is, but hopefully they don’t keep the car hidden away.
What did you think of this one? Did it hammer higher or lower than what you thought it would?
