Sealed Drop time!
RM Sotheby’s Sealed Drop for the month of March is coming up on the 24th and has a selection of five very interesting lots available.

For those that don’t know, the Sealed Drops are typically very high end and/or unique cars sold privately through RM Sotheby’s. The lots are listed publicly on their website, but all transactions are conducted discretely. What a tease!
2025 has already produced some eye popping listings. Last month’s sales included the second-of-three produced Pagani Zonda Tricolore, an ex-Michael Schumacher Ferrari F355, and a 2024 Porsche 911 S/T with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross to aid in the recent California wild fires. Truly spectacular vehicles with a rare opportunity for purchase.

The exceedingly rare Pagani Zonda Tricolore. My goodness……what a machine!
Side note on the Tricolore: I had the extreme fortune to see this car in person back in 2012 during a tour of the Pagani factory. Happy to see it come up for sale, and fingers crossed its next caretaker will put many miles on it.

This month’s lots are very distinctive from one another: a McLaren P1 in matte green, a 1967 Porsche 911 S delivered new to former F1 World Champion Jochen Rindt, a gorgeous Viola Metallic Porsche 911 993 Turbo S, a Q-Ship of a Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL AMG, and finally a collection of Triumph Bonneville motorcycles which….I know absolutely nothing about!

All are seriously cool in their own way: You have everything from a modern hypercar in the McLaren, to a classic 911 with provenance galore, to a group of motorcycles that would great in any collector’s garage. Really neat stuff and I love the variety that RM Sotheby’s brought this month.

Viola Metallic looking splendid on this 993. The yellow calipers pair nicely.
My pick? The Porsche. I love the color (Viola Metallic is superb!), the spec, and the fact it’s a Turbo S of the last air cooled generation. All that adds up to a great car that I would love in my collection.
