If you recognize the line above then you no doubt know the TV show Wheeler Dealers.
But if you don't recognize it, then you should know that Wheeler Dealers is a British show that started clear back in 2003 with the premise of buying a car, fixing it up, and selling it for a profit. It starred Mike Brewer, the consummate used car salesman, and Edd China, a giant mechanic of a man.
The show grew and became such a success that a US based version was launched, still featuring Brewer, but this time having Ant Anstead as the mechanic.
In a 2018 episode, the duo bought and sold a beautifully sinister piece of American muscle in the form of a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. That car now finds itself being auctioned on BringATrailer, ending June 6th.
Take a look at the clip below for Ant performing some TV magic on the Z06:
It's a pretty "standard" Z06 in black over black. On the show various fixes were completed and some minor modifications performed, such as Corbeau seats and projector headlights.
Why they chose those lights, I don't really understand. Makes for good television, I suppose.
In addition to the aforementioned work, Mike and Ant signed the passenger airbag cover, Carrol Shelby style. These signatures will no doubt add a few dollars, and cement the legacy of the car for years to come.

The interior featuring the nicely matching Corbeau seats, autographs of Mike and Ant, plus the best modification of them all: dual cupholders!
On the show, the Z06 was bought for $16,000 and sold for $18,000, which netted the duo a profit of $89.10. I'm going to wager that the final will be higher than that, but not sure how much.
It's a fun and interesting question, as currently the car is largely what it was when it was on the show. And when you boil it down, it's a 2004 Z06 with 99,000 miles that just happened to be featured on TV.
How much extra value does TV show history and a couple of autographs bring?
