A "sport truck" is such an oxymoron to me, but damn if trucks like this 2001 Chevrolet S10 Xtreme on BringAtrailer don't bring a huge smile to my face.

Back in the late 90s and early 2000s these, and the likes of the Toyota Tacoma S-Runner and Dodge Dakota R/T served as an interesting sporty alternative to the "off road this, off road that" truck crowd.

While each started life as a two wheel drive compact truck with a roomy cab and long enough bed, they had their own subtle differences to stand out.

The Chevy was the stylish one, the Toyota the performer (with added ability to add a factory supercharger), and the Dodge the bruiser with it's 5.9L V8.

Considering that these were trucks developed for the street with sacrificed capabilities in the towing, off road, and hauling categories, not too many of their like were purchased, so seeing one like this come up for sale is fantastic.

And what an example! A one owner with just 23,000 miles and residing its entire life in Washington state, which means virtually NO RUST! How great is that?

So Clean!

This truck looks absolutely fantastic and near mint in the photos. It's extremely clean outside and especially inside, which reflects its low miles and an apparently conscientious owner.

I love the cold start video, with it's characteristic 2000s era Chevrolet chime sound, and the V6 emits a nice rumble.

Granted, that V6 is only good for 180hp and a 0-60 sprint of about nine seconds, which even new wasn't particularly Xtreme (see what I did there?).

My goodness what a clean engine bay. Really highlights what may be the World's Fattest A/C lines.

But the looks make up for it. With that lovely red paint and glorious body kit, this is a truck that is made for cruising while looking good doing it. I badly want to take this out on a warm summer's evening. Preferably to a theater to watch The Fast and the Furious.

Let's go!

At time of writing the Xtreme is sitting at $12,500. My guess is it cracks the $20k mark, so there is room to go.

How much do you think it will go for? And would you choose this, the S-Runner, Dakota, or something else?
