Is it just me, or do Porsches look best in green?

One of these days I'm going to have a Battle Royale between Ferrari and Porsche for who has the highest optioned cars. Some of the stuff customers spec is just jaw dropping, usually accompanied by an equally jaw dropping price.

A strong contender from ze Germans, has to be this 2022 718 Boxster Spyder, currently on Pcarmarket.

It's a stunner. When you look at the car and the spec it's obvious there is something seriously special here.

The 718 Boxster Spyder is a great model to begin with, and splashing an additional $12,380 for the Paint to Sample Nato Olive exterior paint would be enough for most buyers. But this one goes much, much further with the options to reach an absolutely staggering MSRP of $270,675!

The green exterior, gold wheels, red Pegasus, and "22" logo on the side.....you can tell this isn't your average Boxster.

So, to break it down, it's:
Base car: $98,000
Options: $178,000
Great googily moogily

So, how on earth did it get to that price? Well, when you look at the Window Sticker, you see some of the usual pricey options like the Burmester High-End Surround Sound system ($4,690), Carbon Ceramic Brakes ($8,000 with an additional $900 for black calipers), and Full Bucket Seats ($5,900). It all adds up quick, but nowhere close to the MSRP.

Then as we venture further down the list, we come to a very special word in the Porsche world: Sonderwunsch. Sonderwunsch, or "Special Request", is where things get very interesting, and very, very cool.

Sonderwunsch options are coded as "CXX" on the window sticker of a Porsche

Sonderwunsch is to Porsche what Tailor Made is to Ferrari. A special program where special customers can spec their cars far beyond the core options.

Denoted as option code CXX, all sorts of exterior paint colors become available. Interior materials and colors also expand greatly. For the most part, if you can dream it, Porsche can do it. The only real limit is the customer's wallet.

In this case, the customer opened up theirs and handed over the princely sum of $124,585.

Really gorgeous interior. In the top left corner you can see the painted roll hoops, and a portion of the "Spyder" badge.

For this, the beautiful Black and Iceland Green interior was customized in the form of expanded leather and stitching all over the dash, seats, and doors. The exterior received features such items as roll bars finished in Nato Olive instead of the usual black, and the "Spyder" designation in lovely Weissgold Metallic. That same color also finds itself on the wheels, which I think is just fantastic. I'm not usually a fan of gold wheels (sorry, Subaru WRX), but I think it fits her perfectly.

With Sonderwunsch, even the key gets the Nato Olive treatment

I think the car is breathtaking, but what will the final price be?

That's going to be interesting. This is NOT a "No Reserve" car, so the seller is expecting some kind of price. I personally think it will crack $200,000, but of course that remains to be seen. Fingers crossed the seller recoups most of his initial spend, and the buyer finds themselves enjoying a very special Porsche.

What do you think? Does CXX bring the money, or is this more in line with a standard Boxster Spyder?

Another big option Sonderwunsch car, this time a Spyder RS.  Really amazing build.  I think I like this better than the Nato Olive one.

Highest bid was $224,000 which didn't hit reserve.  Now for sale at $265,000.

I like the Marine Corps green better, but I'm biased.
