Buy James May’s 911!

Yes, you read correctly, Captain Slow himself, James May, is selling his Porsche 911 and soon YOU can own it.

Courtesy of Collecting Cars, this 911 is anything but slow and just happens to also be one of the greats: a 2010 997.2 Carrera S!

That’s right, no base Carrera here, May’s car is the one you want: an S with a manual transmission, and in the simple yet fetching color combo of Carrera White over an Ocean Blue Leather interior.

And since it’s a .2, this means it contains all the greatness of the 997 generation with the added benefit of a 3.8L flat six that is substantially more reliable and free of the many issues found in the m96/m97 engines of the previous 997.1 and 996 generations.

The listing contains some VERY blurry photos of documents, a couple of which show the options that May specced when ordering his car. Highlights include a Bose sound system, Limited Slip Differential, standard seats, and…a rear wiper. A pure, purposeful spec built for the daily commute!

Imagine being in traffic and seeing Captain Slow in the lane next you, possibly on his way to the Top Gear studio.

This is one I am personally really excited about. I lived and breathed Top Gear for years and love James May’s currently work. To see a car that he owned come to auction is exciting, and I look forward to watching this one. It’ll be really interesting to see what kind on influence his ownership has on it.
